Why is this called the Ideal Woman? Have you ever wondered what this means?
So there are a list of virtues being taught and some knowledge shared, but to what is all the effort geared?
For the answers to these questions, look to your own self and ask “Who am I supposed to be?” “What is my purpose and goal, and how do I get there?”
And this brings us to the first attribute of an Ideal Woman…Honesty.
An Ideal Woman would be honest, first and foremost to her own self, to admit her own flaws and the need to constantly improve, to admit her striving despite what others may think or say; honest in her words, deeds and intentions, and honest in her relationship with others, and this takes us to the next Attribute.
The Ideal Woman would also be kind. Kind to every creation of Allah, out of love for Him...no matter who or what they are. Her kindness would be so attainable that everyone would be able to afford it. She would show no distinction; truly upholding the sisterhood of Islam and seeing everyone as an extension of herself.
She would be generous in every way possible; with her words, her knowledge, her wealth and her self. she would always strive to gain more knowledge to benefit herself and others, and would always try to help others improve themselves just as she tries to improve her own self too.
The Ideal Woman would be self sacrificing for the sake of Allah. Leaving that which she loves for what He the Most Gracious loves. She would be patient in times of trials, in doing what He commands, and leaving what He forbids. And she would always try to help others around her to do the same.
She’s not one who gives up, no matter how hard the trial is. She would always hold her ultimate goal and project the end she dreams of and strive to reach it.
So often when put up against the term ‘Ideal’ we seem to pale in comparison because no one can possibly be perfect, but the Ideal is the person we want to be, the goal we try to attain the never ending motivation because we always know there's room for improvement.
May Allah help us attain His pleasure and never stop trying to be the best we can possibly be
Allaahumma Aameen!
